A Word from Trish:
I joined the gym shortly after the birth of my second child. I went off and on for years but not seriously until 2003. I've always had a stocky physque, however I knew that I had the genetics with potential. I've always had an interest in the fitness industry but never imagined that I could do it. Watching the fitness programs on WTSN really encouraged me to compete, also being a cheerleader in highschool helped with some aspects. I had no other experience in competing in fitness, I just watched and learned. I knew that it would be a challange for me, working 2 jobs and raising 2 children, however if you want something bad enough you will achieve.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the prep for the show from designing my own costume to putting together my own routine. The 2004 championships was truly a great experience. Walking out on that stage and hearing my family and friends cheering me on was very over whelming.

I do plan to compete again, and if I had any advice to give to someone doing this for the first time is" Build on faith rather than doubts and going into it with a positive attitude...........and don't forget to SMILE!!!!!!!
